I Just called to Say - I love you .......

My favourite Romantic movies in no Particular order

1. Casablanca.

Starring Humprey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman for long considered the most romantic flicks .
It is one of the movies where Morality and love collide.
The best scene in the movie is one when Ingrid walks into the bar Humphrey owns and there comes the dio - “Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine.”
That he lets her go is one of the best goodbye scenes

2.Love Story .

Starring Ryan O Neal and Ali Mcgraw .It has the famous lines- "Love means not having to say you are sorry "Personally I think its the worst advice one could give .Love means having the humility and respect for another to say you're sorry, even if you are not at fault. Love means having to say you're sorry, often and meaning it. A tear jerker this one .

3.When Harry Met Sally.

The movie is all about friendship over a period of time ,love-hate relationship .Brilliant for its dialogues and its commedy this one has you believing in fate and destiny ..Starring Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal ..make you want to fall in love. The most romantic quote in the movie was -

“I love that you get cold when it’s 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you’re looking at me like I’m nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it’s not because I’m lonely, and it’s not because it’s New Year’s Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”

4.An Officer and a Gentleman

Starring Richard Gere and Debra Winger . A story about a man determined to change his life. He enlists in the navy and meets the love of his life a factory worker. He denies that he loves her as she is just a factory worker whereas he is a Officer in the navy. The last moments of the movie are ones where he goes to get her cause he realises he cannot live without her .

5.Sleepless in Seattle

Another Tom Hanks -Meg Ryan movie .Meg Ryan is cute as ever. Tom Hanks is a great versatile actor, he plays a father. There is nothing new or notable in this flick, but it’s a warm and touching romantic comedies which is perfect to watch on a lazy day!

6.Notting Hill

Starring Julie Roberts and Hugh Grant a British Commedy . It’s love at first sight for William Thacker (Grant) when a famous star (Julia) walks in to his little bookstore in Notting Hill, London. Then a series of developments bring William and Anna closer and they love each other but have difficulties in the end. Even if it has the same old predictable and niché ending which all this romantic comedies have, we will love the movie. This one has my Favourite song - You say it best when you say nothing at all by Ronan Keating.

7.The Notebook

This one was highly recommended .There are many romantic moments in the movie, one needs to watch to enjoy. The dialogues and quotes are really heartwarming. Both Noah and Allie are cute and make a wonderful pair. Pure Romance this one .

8. Titanic

I love it for the line - When you have nothing to loose you have everything to win.

9.Its a Wonderful Life .

An unforgettable fable that proves love, family and imagination conquer all.” goes the tagline of the movie Life Is Beautiful is one of the best foreign films I have seen. I Have never seen a movie which is based on the World War 2 backdrop and is a comedy. Even thought the ending is sad, the film shows in lighter spirit

10.You've got Mail .

Another Tom Hanks -Meg Ryan Starrer .It’s got a little bit of romance, social commentary, literary references, great side characters. Hanks and Ryan are of the perfect chemistry. You’ve Got Mail has a more emotional ending , I just Love this movie! Love these people! Makes me feel so good! It just makes my day and puts me into good and cheerful mood. Meg Ryan is such a beautiful woman, so cute, so adorable and such a good actress for this kind of movie. The way she bounces; the way she walks when she is happy, with her head slightly bobbing back; forth like she is dancing to some wonderful music no one else hears, makes me very happy .

11.Roman Holiday

Starring Gregrory Peck and Audrey Hepburn .I owe my dad a big one for this . Timeless . A great number of remakes have been made on this one but this is head and shoulders above . For sheer communication when the eyes speak more than words this one takes the cake.

12. Jerry Maguire

Starring Tom Cruise and Renee Zelwelleger . The best line in the movie is "You complete me"

Jerry MaGuire is a romantic movie for men which illustrates the strength of love even when he is at his worst and how the right woman can still bring out his best.

13. As Good as it Gets

Starring Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt .The script is witty, funny and at times heart-wrenching. What we like about this movie is its illustration of the give and take within a relationship as it builds and ultimately becomes real. Too often people believe love Just Happens. As Good as it Gets demonstrates love doesn't just happen but evolves one day at a time.My Favourite line in the movie is " You make me want to be a better man"

14.The Terminal.

The Terminal from Spielberg . This film made me laugh and it’s funny.Tom Hanks was brilliant , has romance, a brilliant script and a good direction

Catherine Zeta Jones has an aura and charm around around her which cant be explained by words

15. Come September

Rock Hudson and Gina Lollobrigida rock in Italy while babysitting a bunch of teenagers and finding Love.

16. Love Affair .

A remake of "Love Affair" (1939) and "An Affair to Remember" (1957), this is a love-at-first-sight story of two people falling in love when they have given up looking for it. They promised to meet again three months later (to affirm their attraction or love for each other) atop the Empire State Building, and if ever one of them does not show up, then they should just forget about each other with no questions asked. Starring real-life couple Warren Beatty and Annette Bening, this movie will make you fall in love all over again.
"I guess I'm happy when I don't want to be anywhere else but where I am."this line says it all.
