A Prayer

Bhulo bhale biju badhu maa baap ne bhulso nahi;
aganit che upkaar ena, eh visarso nahi.

A sahiy vethi vedna tyare dithu tam mukhdu,
e punit jann na kadja, paththar bani chundsho nahi.

Kadhi mukhethi kodiya moh ma dai mota kariya;
Amrut tana denar samey jer uchaad sho nahi.

Lakho ladavya laad tamne, kod sav pura karya;
e kod na purnarna, kod purva bhulso nahi.

Laakho kamata ho bhale, maa baap jethi na tharya;
e lakh nahi pan rakh che, e manvu bhulso nahi.

Santan thi seva chaho to santan cho seva karo;
Jevu karo tevu bharo, e bhavna bhulso nahi.

Bhine sui pote ane sukhe suvadya aapne;
e ami may aankh ne, bhuli ne bhinjavso nahi.

Pushpo bichavya premthi jene tamara raah par;
e rahbarna rah par,kantak kadi banso nahi.

Dhan kharachta madse badhu, maata pita madse nahi;
Ena punit charno tani,e chahna bhulso nahi.

Bhulo bhale biju badhu, maa baap ne bhulso nahi;
a ganit che upkaar ena, eh visarso nahi..

This is a prayer that I first heard at my grandpa's house. Its a prayer in Gujrati and the meaning of it is :

Forget what you may but dont forget your parents
They have done countless favours for you do not forget

They have sacrificied so that you may achieve what you have set to achieve
and foregone their small pleasures so that you may be happy

They have waited to see the joy in your eyes
When it is your turn to give them joy do not forget them

If you seek happiness from your children remember you arre someones child as well
what you sow so shall you reap

You may earn lakhs but if you cant take care of your parents when they are old
All that money is worth nothing

You can buy most things in life with money but not your parents love

I tried very hard to do justice to the prayer it is a very inept ...but comes from the heart
