George Bernard Shaw, Noel Coward, Oscar Wilde...

My first introduction to Mr Shaw came when I was in class X and we had in English Literature a letter from Jawarlal Nehru to Mr Shaw.

I have since not studied English but my love for books and quotes has always made me follow up of Mr Shaw.

Some of my fave quotes :

Life is not meant to be easy ...my child but take courage it can be delightfull

Silence is the most perfect expression of scorn

This is a funny one by George Bernard Shaw, “I would like to take you seriously, but to do so would be an affront to your intelligence. ”

“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.”

NOEL COWARD :

It's discouraging to think how many people are shocked by honesty and how few by deceit

Wit ought to be a glorious treat like caviar; never spread it about like marmalade.

I've over-educated myself in all the things I shouldn't have known at all

Work is much more fun than fun.

My fave one : I've sometimes thought of marrying, and then I've thought again...

Oscar Wilde.

A gentleman is one who never hurts anyone's feelings unintentionally.

I always pass on good advice. It is the only thing to do with it. It is never of any use to oneself.

The truth is rarely pure and never simple.

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.
